Hello! My name is Hongmin Yu. I’m delighted to be teaching 5th-grade students Math, Science, and Mandarin in the 26-27 academic year.
I was a high school teacher of Chinese language and literature for 23 years at a school with a great reputation near Shanghai, China. I have 3 years of teaching experience in Chinese to elementary, middle, and high school students in Ohio & Texas. This is my 6th year at Gavilan Peak School.
I value a positive growth mindset for students’ social-emotional learning and an academically inspiring environment where every child’s potential can be discovered, and every student feels valued and enjoys learning with their classmates.
I am looking forward to getting to know our wonderful students and to having a fantastic year filled with learning, growth, and fun!
