Hi! My name is Erika McDonald, and I am thrilled to be your 4th grade ELA and Social Studies teacher this year! 

I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Arizona in 2001 and later earned my teaching certificate from Arizona State University. This will be my 9th year at Gavilan Peak, where I have enjoyed teaching and coaching Cross Country.

My husband and I moved to Phoenix from Flagstaff 21 years ago and have lived in Anthem for the past 9 years. We have two wonderful children who both attended Gavilan Peak. We also share our home with our two rambunctious dogs, a betta fish, and a hamster. Outside of school, I love spending time with my family, trail running, sailing, and, of course, reading.

I am looking forward to a wonderful year filled with learning, friendship, and adventure. Let’s make it a great one!
