Meet Ms. Parks
Ms. Parks
Hello Artists! My name is Ms. Parks and I'll be your K-8 Art Teacher. I'm so excited to learn more about all of you this year!
I am originally from San Francisco, but I've lived in Anthem since last year. My house is filled with my 3 cats, 2 dogs, and 1 foster dog! Other than art, I love to read, go kickboxing, play games, and watch new shows/movies.
I graduated with my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from California College of the Arts; my academic focus was Visual Development for Animation (character design, storyboard art, concept art, etc). Through my art knowledge, love of animation, and eagerness to make a difference in the classroom, I'm eager for my students to learn from me!
Reach out to me if you have any questions. I'm excited to meet you all! (scroll down to see more about me)

Behavioral issues will result in students missing out on some fun activities, so try your best and we will have a great year!
PE and Fitness & Conditioning
Welcome!
Welcome to PE and Fitness & Conditioning!
This year in PE class you will have the opportunity to participate in many different sports and activities, get to know yourself and classmates, learn how to be a team player, develop leadership skills and explore many health topics, all while having fun! Uniforms are mandatory for PE class only at Gavilan Peak this year. The GP uniforms consist of a Gavilan Peak Physical Education cotton t-shirt, and dry-fit shorts. If there is a financial hardship please contact me. Gym shoes are also required. No slides, crocs, or sandles are allowed. If a student is not wearing closed-toed gymshoes or the PE uniform, he/she will not be allowed to participate that day, which will effect their grade. Participation is mandatory for this class.
Those students who are in Fitness and Conditioning will aim to improve their Cardiovascular Endurance, Muscular Strength, Muscular Endurance and Flexibility/Mobility. The students will develop knowledge of and competency of variety of fitness activities. Participation is mandatory for this class. This class will consist of learning the five components of fitness, nutrition, and living a healthy life style. My goal is to have students learn to make healthy life long fitness choices that will be incorporated into their daily lives. **Gavilan Peak uniforms are not required for this class, however, gym shoes are mandatory to participate in the physical activities. If a student does not have the correct foot wear, they will not earn the points for the day.
P.E. and Fitness & Conditioning Requirements:
- Students are required to participate in all activities both inside the classroom and out on the field to the best of their ability.
- Students are required to bring a note from a doctor, parent, or guardian if they cannot participate in an activity.
- Students are required to treat all school personnel, other students and visitors with respect.
- We will be introducing the Fitnessgram, a district requirement, to the students in both classes. Some of the fitness tests we will be doing is the PACER test (Running), push up test, and the curl up test.
